Im Rahmen der Kampagne „Global Fight to End Fossil Fuels“, die vom 15.-17.09.2023 stattfand, wurden über 700 lokale Aktionen in über 65 Ländern initiiert. WECF hat in Kooperation mit der Bürger*innengenossenschaft BENG eG einen Workshop zum Thema „Balkonmodule für Alle“ veranstaltet. Durch die finanzielle Unterstützung der Elektrizitätswerke Schönau (EWS) konnten wir mit unseren Teilnehmenden praktische und direkte gemeinschaftliche Lösungen gegen die Weiterführung einer fossilen Wirtschaft und Denkweise teilen und diskutieren.
Mit unseren Trainer*innen Katharina Habersbrunner (WECF und BENG) und Thomas Hensel (Berufslehrer für Elekroberufe und Techniker) und unseren 15 Teilnehmenden wurde der Workshop im EineWeltHaus in München zu einem erfolgreichen Austausch über Barrieren hinzu und Wünsche an eine dezentrale Energiewende. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in die Welt der Bürger*innenenergie Konzepte in Deutschland und in die diversen Möglichkeiten sich zivilgesellschaftlich zu organisieren, sind wir direkt in einen praxisorientierten Dialog übergegangen.
Anhand eines PV-Moduls sowie der weiteren notwendigen Technik, die wir für ein funktionierendes Balkonmodul benötigen, sind wir in aller Ruhe die administrativen Schritte sowie die konkrete Installation eines PV-Balkonmoduls durchgegangen. Besonders interessant war dabei der Austausch zwischen den Teilnehmenden und die Gespräche über ihre bisherigen Erfahrungen, auch in anderen Ländern wie Südafrika. Und am Ende des Workshops hat unser Balkonmodul mithilfe unserer Tombola eine glückliche neue Besitzerin gefunden, die nun zu einer dezentralen Energiewende für eine grüne Zukunft für alle mitwirkt.
Diese Veranstaltung war der Startschuss für eine Veranstaltungsreihe in verschiedenen Teilen und mit verschiedenen Gruppen in München. Wir wollen durch unsere Workshops in Zukunft vor allem Menschen erreichen, die noch nichts oder wenig von den Möglichkeiten der Bürger*innenenergie wissen, ihnen die Potentiale einer dezentralen Energiewende durch Mini-PV-Anlagen näher bringen und dabei die Einfachheit der PV-Technologie aufzeigen.

Do It Yourself – Balcony Modules for All
As part of the campaign “Global Fight to End Fossil Fuels“, which took place from 15-17 September 2023, over 700 local actions in 65+ countries were initiated. WECF organised a workshop on “Balcony Modules for All” in cooperation with the citizens’ cooperative BENG eG. With the financial support of Elektrizitätswerke Schönau (EWS), we were able to share and discuss with our participants practical and direct community solutions against the continuation of a fossil fuel economy and mindset.
With our trainers Katharina Habersbrunner (WECF and BENG) and Thomas Hensel (vocational teacher for electrical professions and technician) and our 15 participants, the workshop at the EineWeltHaus in Munich turned into a successful exchange about barriers to and wishes for a decentralised energy transition. After a short introduction to the world of citizen energy concepts in Germany and the various possibilities of civil society organisation, we went straight into a practice-oriented dialogue.
Using a PV module and the other necessary technology for a functioning balcony module, we calmly went through the administrative steps and the actual installation of a PV balcony module. What was particularly interesting was the exchange between the participants and the discussions about their previous experiences, also in other countries such as South Africa. And at the end of the workshop, our balcony module found a happy new owner with the help of our raffle, who is now contributing to a decentralised energy transition for a green future for all.
This event was the starting point for a series of events in different parts and with different groups in Munich. In the future, we want to use our workshops to reach people who know little or nothing about the possibilities of citizen energy, to show them the potential of a decentralised energy transition through mini PV systems and to demonstrate the simplicity of PV technology.
