Call for Young Feminists to Participate in the 64th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women | 9 to 20 March 2020 | New York

 

Women Engage for a Common Future offers 3 young feminists to come to New York in March 2020 in order to attend and engage in the Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) where next year the commitments of the 4th World Conference on Women of 1995 will be reviewed (Beijing+25). We have 3 spaces for young womxn to join us in New York for one week, we will pay your travel to NY, accommodation and a per diem.

If you fit the below criteria please send us until 15th December 2019 your CV and a brief motivation letter why you want to learn about the space of international negotiations of women’s and girls’ rights and empowerment and why you want to participate in the CSW 64 and what are your main areas of concern that you would like to voice at this prominent platform.

 

Criteria

  • You are a young feminist (up to 35 years old in 2020) with a cause you want to address on an international platform;
  • You come from the EECCA (Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia) region, preferably from the rural areas;
  • You have previously been involved in the Beijing plus 25 process, ideally present in Geneva at the CSO Regional Forum in October 2019;
  • You have a strong interest and some knowledge/experience in gender equality issues and in issues of sustainable development;
  • You are fluent in English.
