It is often said that everybody has the same number of hours in a day, but is that really the case?
Women and girls, in all their diversity, are often tasked with time consuming responsibilities in the home. These tasks include for example collecting firewood or water, preventing them from enjoying education or taking part in paid work. These hours often remain hidden, yet we know they will further increase given the exacerbating effects of climate change. Time is ticking to tackle time poverty.
In this parallel event we aim to explore how time poverty is formed, by looking at specific case studies on the gendered dimensions of energy, water and menstrual poverty and by sharing best practices from women-led, feminist initiatives from the Global South.
Join the worldcafe to help co-create recommendations on how to identify needs and strengthen gender-transformative initiatives to tackle energy, water and menstrual poverty.
We look forward to welcoming you to our interactive event!
