What: Courageous Conversations Event in Amsterdam Nieuw-West

When: Thursday 25 April from 16.00 – 22.00 (free walk-in)

Where: Broedplaats De Vlugt & Cinema De Vlugt, Slotermeerlaan, Amsterdam Nieuw-West

We invite you to an afternoon and evening of courageous conversations, film, workshops, creative expression and delicious food in Amsterdam! We will start the event at 16h with music and an interactive workshop by Amsterdam Street Art Museum. At 6.30pm, you are welcome for the screening of the Georgian film Blackbird Blackbird, Blackberry, with special guest Georgian women’s rights and environmental activist Ida Bakhturidze.

Under the banner “Art for Climate Awareness”, we aim to show how to combine awareness, art and community spirit for positive change. Discover how art can inspire action! With the goal of a healthier planet for all of us.

The day looks as follows:

4pm: Opening with music, exhibition and outside workshops by Street Art Museum Amsterdam and spoken word by Rihab
6pm: Guided Street Art Tour through Slotermeer by Street Art Museum Amsterdam (SAMA)
6.30 pm: Film Blackbird, Blackbird, Blackberry, followed by conversation with Ida Bakhturidze, women human rights defender from Georgia
8.30 pm: Talks on sustainable and creative initiatives, with a.o. Larissa Korporaal (Pink Nieuw-West, Donut Bakery, Vuilnisoproer), architect Edith Winkler, Buurtwerkplaats Noorderhof ánd spoken word by photographer and postwoman in Nieuw-West, Anjez.
9.30 pm: drinks
