Climate change does not affect all people equally. Young women, girls, and gender-diverse youth, particularly from the Global South, experience compounded vulnerabilities due to intersecting inequalities such as poverty, class, ethnicity, disability, and rural/urban divides. Despite their leadership in grassroots climate action, their perspectives remain underrepresented in climate negotiations and decision-making spaces.
This side event will spotlight youth voices at the intersection of gender and climate justice, showcasing lived realities, grassroots experiences, and innovative solutions. By highlighting intersectionality, the event seeks to move beyond token participation toward meaningful inclusion in policy processes.
