Women Power 2030 – Steering Committee Meeting
On 17 March 2025, the Steering Committee of the Women Power 2030 (WP2030) consortium convened in New York, bringing together the Executive Directors of all consortium partners alongside WECF. The meeting served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration, assess progress, and outline joint priorities for the year ahead.
Strengthening Coordination
A key focus of the discussions was improving coordination across the consortium. Members emphasized the need for clearer information sharing during monthly calls and recommended the participation of finance colleagues at the start of these meetings to address financial matters efficiently. To enhance strategic dialogue, the committee also agreed that Executive Directors should meet every six months, in addition to their annual gathering.
Collaboration Beyond Formal Settings
The Steering Committee recognized the value of informal exchanges in building stronger partnerships. Such opportunities provide space for reflection, mutual learning, and deeper collaboration that extends beyond formal agendas.
Joint Advocacy and Campaigning
Partners reaffirmed their commitment to collective advocacy. They agreed to co-host a side event at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) and to develop a shared campaign symbolizing resistance against the rollback of women’s rights, with the idea of a red or purple line as a unifying visual.
Looking Forward
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of WP2030 partners to advancing gender equality and women’s rights globally. By strengthening coordination, fostering collaboration, and pursuing joint advocacy, the consortium continues to demonstrate the power of collective action in addressing today’s global challenges.
