Our Director Sascha Gabizon meets with European Commissioner Urpilainen

Our Director Sascha Gabizon was invited to discuss the EU-Africa strategy with the new European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, from Finland. The Commission is currently developing a new EU-Africa strategy and negotiating a new agreement between the EU and African, Caribbean and Pacific countries as a follow-up on the Cotonou Agreement. We are a strategic partner of the European Commission under the Women2030 project.

Commissioner Urpilainen has identified ´unleashing the power that the African youth represent´as her key priority, along with a focus on climate and environmental challenges, digitalisation and gender equality, which she indicates as drivers for development. We were very happy to share our input and experience working on sustainable development with African partners with the Commission.
