Setting Priorities for the next year of WomenPower2030

Steering Committee Meeting

June 4, 2026

Following the WomenPower2030 Annual Planning Meeting, the project’s Steering Committee convened in Utrecht on June 4th to align on strategic priorities for the project and provide valued guidance for the next phase of implementation.

The Steering Committee plays a key role in helping to guide the consortium’s collective vision and long-term decision making. The outcomes of this annual meeting support in ensuring the project continues to respond and adapt to evolving challenges and collaborates to find creative solutions to the changing landscape of civil society engagement.

Executive Directors from all partners in the consortium, FEIM, FEMNET, WEP, WECF and APWLD, joined together to reflect on the project’s progress and explored opportunities to continue the impactful interventions of WomenPower2030 in the years ahead.

Strengthening collective advocacy

The Steering Committee reviewed key advocacy opportunities for 2026 and 2027 and discussed how we can continue our work together to further amplify feminist voices in global policy spaces.

Some of the identified priority areas for engagement include:

  • The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF)
  • The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)
  • UN Climate Change Conferences (COP)
  • And ongoing EU Global Gateway dialogues

Partners explored opportunities to further connect and showcase the strength of the WomenPower2030 network. A key topic of discussion was focused on drawing more intentionally from the abundance of expertise, experience and leadership that exists already across our organisations, regions and network. The conversations also highlighted the value and the need for more in-depth storytelling as a powerful tool for sharing our impact and advancing feminist movement-building.

Based on these discussions, the consortium aims to have an even greater focus on strengthened peer learning, offering more support to youth and emerging feminist leaders in policy engagement, and creating more opportunities for collaboration through joint initiatives and knowledge-sharing.

2026 and beyond

The conversations and ideas that emerged from this meeting have provided us with renewed energy and a reaffirmed commitment to our shared sense of purpose. We are excited and determined to continue building upon the strong foundation and relationships we have created within the WomenPower2030 consortium and beyond.
