Recap: OGAP training during the CAN Europe General Assembly
Representatives from FFF subgrantees and the CAN Europe network came together for an interactive training on Organisational Gender Action Plans (OGAPs) during the General Assembly of CAN Europe (Climate Action Network). The workshop focused on the links between gender equality, climate justice, and ecofeminism, and explored how organisations can become more gender-transformative in their daily work and internal culture.
Facilitated by Annabel Kennedy with support from Isa Niessink, the session combined presentations, group discussions, and practical exercises. Participants reflected on their own organisational practices, shared experiences, and discussed challenges related to gender equality within climate and environmental work.
During the training, participants were introduced to the OGAP toolkit, which supports organisations through three main steps: a gender self-assessment survey, team reflection meetings, and the development of an Organisational Gender Action Plan. In breakout groups, participants tested the tools in practice and explored how to turn reflection into concrete actions and long-term change.
The workshop created space for peer learning, honest discussion, and practical exchange, while strengthening participants’ understanding of how gender justice and climate justice are closely connected.
