Today, together with 15 other organisations, we are launching our position paper for the upcoming Climate Summit, COP30, in Brazil.

The climate crisis is becoming ever more urgent, and so much is at stake. Countries must significantly raise their ambition to keep the goal to stay below 1.5°C. Concrete agreements are also needed to ensure that all countries can carry out a fair energy transition. Inclusive decision-making is essential for sound climate policy, and gender equality must be embedded across all negotiation tracks.

At COP30 in Belém, justice and inclusion in climate action will be at the heart of our priorities. The impacts of climate change are not felt equally. Women and girls in all their diversity, particularly in the Global South, are among the hardest hit, while their leadership and solutions remain underrecognized and underfunded.

To help the Dutch Delegation prepare for COP30, we have outlined these priorities for ambitious, fair, and gender-just climate policy. We aim to advance a just transition that is rights-based, resourced, and legally binding.
