Insulation of public buildings improves energy efficiency in Moldova

Good work is being done in Moldova in the field of energy efficiency. Cooperation between the CLEEN implementing partner AO Colaborare and local authorities has led to the insulation of a number of public buildings.

The regional clinic in the Yedinets municipality had all of its doors and windows replaced, and all walls and the roof of the five-story building were heat insulated. A kindergarten was also insulated, and in addition, a solar collector was installed there so that the children can wash themselves with warm water. Lastly, all the walls of the dormitory of the Young Women Theological Seminary Lyceum in the same municipality were insulated.

Due to these actions, expenses for heating are reduced with 30-35%. The money that is saved by this can be directed to finance other energy efficiency issues.
