Feminist & Future-Proof

We are going to HLPF and will host an event, together with the WomenPower2030 Consortium. Will we see you there?

A Creative Visioning Workshop Moving Beyond 2030

What does a feminist city feel like when you walk through it? How is water and energy access managed in a feminist future? Who should feminists partner with to make these visions a reality?

These are the questions at the core of our event on the auspices of the High-Level Political Forum 2026: “Feminist & Future-Proof: A Creative Visioning Workshop Towards 2030 and Beyond”.

In this interactive and creative parallel event, we will build on the learnings of last year’s WomenPower2030 HLPF side event: “Spearheading SDG5: From Stagnation to Implementation, Acceleration & Transformation”. In this previous event we mapped what is needed to successfully implement, accelerate and transform action for gender equality – this time, we are applying these lessons to the Sustainable Development Goals under review during this year’s HLPF in a creative, visioning exercise.

Format:* Including Free Lunch *

The event will be guided by (eco)feminist leaders and experts from Africa, Latin-America, Asia and the Pacific and Europe, who will set the scene by providing feminist examples of actions undertaken on the topics of “Water & Energy”, “Infrastructure & Cities” and “Partnerships”. The event will particularly make space for young feminist leadership and intergenerational learning and exchange.

An expert will switch tables 3 times (people at tables do not switch) to lead a discussion on their topic of expertise and guide the co-creation of the vision board, using magazine clippings, drawings – you name it. This process repeats itself 3 times, to allow all participants to contribute to all the different areas. After the three rounds, the 6 table moderators will present their feminist and future-proof vision board, followed by a selection of respondents.

Participation:

We welcome a diverse participant audience including civil society actors, decision-makers, philanthropy and UN allies committed to advancing action on SDG5, particularly in relation to SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11 and 17.
