SB58 Side Event: Transforming Climate Finance
Uplifting gender-just & inclusive climate action in the context of the Global Stocktake
The Global Stocktake must enable us to assess our collective progress -and gaps- in implementing the Paris Agreement towards ensuring climate justice across the world. In this context, the IPCC AR6 acknowledges that gender-responsive climate policies and finance remain largely insufficient and inadequate, although addressing gender and intersectional inequalities is vital for transformative climate action. The GST must lead us to a paradigm shift towards feminist approaches with equitable financing and response measures to the multiple intersecting climate, biodiversity and economic crises.
