Children want peace! Help Ukrainian children to enjoy a safe summer camp in Georgia

War takes away the most precious thing a person has – relatives and close people. Unfortunately, many Ukrainian children not only lost their homes but also their parents during the war. Many children are still waiting for their loved ones and wake up every morning with only one dream – for their father to return home alive…

Since 2017, the Alilo 2015 Charitable Foundation (Georgia) has been organizing a social rehabilitation and cultural exchange project for children of Ukrainian defenders. “Children want peace.” This project was created to provide moral and psychological support to children whose parents defend (defended) the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as to strengthen friendly relations between Georgian and Ukrainian children; and to get acquainted with the culture, history and traditions of Georgia. The project is implemented with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia.

The main goals of this project are:

  • Ensuring the psychological rehabilitation of children;
  • Development of interhuman relations between Ukrainian and Georgian children.

Due to the Russiona invasion of Ukraine, the number of children in need of summer camps like these has increased significantly. This year a first group of children already visited Georgia and the rehabilitation proram helped the children to feel safe while enjoying a summer vacation, and getting acquainted with the history, culture and traditions of the Georgian people.

Currently, long-term WECF International partners Black Sea Women’s Club (BSWC) together with WECF and other partner organizations are establishing the funds for the second group of children (approximately 20 children) who will take part in this Ukrainian-Georgian social project in July and August.

The host party provides children with free:

  • Accommodation in a beautiful family-type boarding house in the resort area of Gonio;
  • Three healthy meals a day with participation in master classes on traditional Georgian cuisine;
  • Rich information and cultural program
  • Transfer to and in Georgia

To cover transportation costs from Ukraine to Georgia and from Georgia to Ukraine (bus, flight), we raise funds to the account of the charity fund “Make a dream come true.” If you want to help the children of our defenders to get positive emotions and have a good vacation in a friendly and friendly atmosphere – join!
