Feminist solutions to the environment and climate crisis (Side Event)

Official side event co-organised by WECF with GAGGA and CMI!, co-hosted by Chile, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Women, girls, trans, intersex and non-binary people across the globe have been proposing and leading feminist solutions to address the environmental and climate crises, centering social justice, human rights and care for all people and the planet. 

With the United Nations CSW66’s priority theme focusing on achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes, we are pleased to invite you to our side event where we will:

• Hear examples of feminist climate solutions directly from the people who lead them.
• Discuss with governments how they can best support these solutions as well as the environmental defenders protecting their communities and the planet from extractive development.
