Our planet will survive 🌎
Our earth doesn’t care about deserts, storms and floods. Our earth will survive. It will only change. Because we changed it.
Ultimately, it is not our planet that is in trouble. We are. It is us who change the climate and us who die in environmental disasters. It is us who die of thirst because our groundwater is contaminated, it is us who starve because of droughts. It is us who die of viruses because we deprive animals of their habitat.
The good news is: we have a choice. We can continue to produce tons of jets, SUVs and weapons and therefore unnecessary CO². We can continue to produce pesticides, cut down forests and pollute our soils. But we can also stop doing so. We can rethink, we can do it differently. There are already solutions, and we can use them.
The corona pandemic has shown us that we can act in solidarity in crises. That we can be flexible, learn quickly and adapt our daily life. We will need this experience for future challenges. For droughts, water shortages, unusable soils and even more dangerous infectious diseases.
But above all, we can use these experiences to create something new that will heal our ecosystem and let the earth bloom again. So that we have a future – a healthy future for everyone.
