Highlights from our 2026 Annual Planning Meeting
Coming Together in Utrecht
We were delighted to host all our Partners in Utrecht, the Netherlands, for the 2026 Annual Planning Meeting of the Women Power 2030 (WP2030) project. Representatives from across our consortium, including FEMNET, WEP, APWLD, FEIM, and WECF, came together to reflect on the progress made throughout 2025, strengthen collaboration, and plan our collective priorities for the years ahead.
Funded by the European Union, Women Power 2030 advances gender equality, climate justice, and women’s leadership through advocacy, campaigning, capacity strengthening, and movement building across regions. The annual meeting provided an important opportunity to share experiences, celebrate achievements, and coordinate our efforts to maximize impact.
As global challenges are increasingly affecting women’s rights, civic participation, and climate action, the meeting reaffirmed the importance of solidarity, cross-regional learning, and feminist leadership in creating sustainable and inclusive change.

Key Outcomes
Reflecting on Progress and Strengthening Collaboration :
Partners shared achievements, lessons learned, and experiences from the last year of project implementation. Discussions highlighted the value of regional knowledge exchange, adaptive approaches, and strong partnerships in advancing gender equality and climate justice.
The meeting also reinforced the consortium’s commitment to strengthening collaboration across regions and ensuring that local experiences continue to inform global advocacy efforts.
Capacity Strengthening and Peer Learning
Building on previous years’ successes, we explored opportunities for expanded capacity strengthening across the network.
Priority themes identified for future learning initiatives included:
- Ethical and strategic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Feminist digital security and organizational resilience
- Addressing anti-gender narratives and backlash
- Advocacy and policy engagement strategies
- Peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange
The consortium also emphasized the importance of sharing expertise across regions, allowing partners to learn from each other’s experiences and strengthen collective capacities.
Coordinated Advocacy for Greater Impact
The consortium reviewed upcoming advocacy opportunities and identified key international and regional spaces where Women Power 2030 partners will engage collectively throughout 2026 and 2027.
Attention was given to strengthening coordination around major global processes, including:
- The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF)
- United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
- Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)
- UN Climate Change Conferences (COP)
We agreed to continue working together to amplify feminist perspectives, promote gender-responsive policies, and ensure women’s voices are represented in international decision–making spaces.
Building Visibility and Collective Storytelling
The meeting highlighted the importance of communicating the impact of Women Power 2030 through compelling stories, shared campaigns, and coordinated outreach efforts.
Partners explored ways to strengthen visibility across regions while showcasing the diverse experiences and achievements of women, feminist organizations, and communities involved in the project.
By combining local stories with global advocacy, the consortium aims to further amplify feminist voices and demonstrate the transformative impact of collective action.
Looking Ahead
The 2026 Annual Planning Meeting reaffirmed the strength of the Women Power 2030 partnership and the value of working together across regions to advance gender equality, climate justice, and women’s rights.
Through continued collaboration, shared learning, and coordinated advocacy, the consortium remains committed to supporting feminist movements and creating meaningful change at local, regional, and global levels.
We leave Utrecht energized by the conversations, partnerships, and ideas that emerged throughout the meeting, and look forward to the next phase of Women Power 2030 as we continue working together toward a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future.
