Women Power 2030 – First Advisory Committee Meeting: Strengthening Climate and Gender Justice
The Women Power 2030 Advisory Committee is a group of representatives comprised of a varied network of members affiliated with our project. The 10 representatives have been selected from across the world and have been prioritized based on diversity across geographic regions, age groups, and professional backgrounds. Collectively, they represent feminist grassroots movements, environmentalists, climate negotiators, disability inclusion advocates, policy experts and community leaders who are committed to advancing climate and gender justice.
The Advisory Committee plays a vital role in our project’s governance structure. The primary role that these 10 representatives will play is to provide strategic advice and guidance to the Coordination Committee. We look to them to offer expertise, practical insights and recommendations on subgranting initiatives, agenda priorities for network and policy advocacy meetings, and innovative solutions to advance project objectives and emerging challenges.
This first meeting brought together leaders nominated from our partner organizations across Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. Throughout the duration of the Women Power 2030 project, we plan to hold two subsequent Advisory Committee meetings, as well as aim to convene in person at various partner initiatives when possible. We are excited to learn from members of the committee and are thrilled to have their strategic advice and invaluable guidance to ensure the effective implementation of our Women Power 2030’s activities.
