WECF at the COP26 – Our Events
WECF is present at the COP26. The Climate Change Conference takes place in Glasgow, Scotland from 31st of October till 12th of November.
As a member the Women & Gender Constituency, we are part of a movement that is bringing climate justice to COP26. Climate justice recognises that all of our struggles lead back to the same unjust system – from climate, to covid, to racism, to gender inequality. To solve these problems, we have to solve them all together through system change. The decisions made at COP26 will shape how governments respond (or not) to the climate crisis. Due to the pandemic we know that many voices from the Global South will be excluded from the climate table. Due to structural gender inequality women’s voices are not being equally heard in climate spaces. To make sure our voices are heard here’s an overview of our events and important moments:

WORLD CLIMATE MARCH, NOVEMBER 6
We are present at the COP with a small delegation, together with our feminist partners from the Women and Gender Constituency. On the 6th November we will be joining the Global March in Glasgow. This is happening globally plus you can also take part virtually. In Amsterdam staff from our Netherlands office will co-host the Gender Justice Block at the Climate March at the Dutch Klimaatmars. WOMEN & GENDER CONSTITUENCY – UPLIFT OUR DEMANDS FOR A #FEMINISTCLIMATEJUSTICE
Join us in wearing and bringing attention to certain colours on each day of COP26. Each colour represents one of our demands for systemic change and feminist climate justice! If you are going to Glasgow – pack some clothes or accessories in these colours and wear them on each corresponding day while you’re at COP! Take part on social media by snapping a selfie or take pictures with your organization or feminist friends wearing the colour of the day or holding up a sign with the demand/colour of the day, post the picture on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook! Download & post the daily colour campaign graphics on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook with the key messages for the day. You can find our message by looking for the hashtag #FeministClimateJustice
