#FightInequalities
NOVEMBER 16, 2018 | IN CAMPAIGN | BY ADMINWECF
We are part of the coalition ‘Make Europe Sustainable for All’, and together with 26 European organisations are working to make the general public and politicians more aware of the persisting inequalities of our region. We are convinced that without combating inequalities we will not be able to achieve the 2030 agenda. We have been focusing particularly on increasing awareness about the topic in Germany by looking at our national context.
About our campaign
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are still conveniently referred to as ‘goals for the Global South’, diverting the attention from a necessary transformation in economically strong countries such as Germany. We are experiencing the failure to meet agreed climate targets in Germany while inequalities are rocketing. We therefore want to turn the spotlight on the German sustainability performance, particularly in terms of existing (gender) inequality and the political and social changes needed to fight them. The campaign calls for societies to become more inclusive, especially for women of all social and economic backgrounds, and for citizens to become change makers in their own communities.
