What we do

The overall goal of our Empower Women benefit for All (EWA) programme was to contribute to economic and political empowerment of women from low-income rural and peri-urban regions in six developing countries (Afghanistan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Tajikistan, Uganda). It was supported by the “Funding Leadership and Opportunities for Women” (FLOW),  a fund set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands to improve the position of women and girls in developing countries. The programme built on our multi-annual approach 2010 – 2015, which aimed at contributing to achieving the Millennium Development Goals 1 (eradicate extreme poverty and hunger), 3 (promote gender equality and empower women) and 7 (ensure environmental sustainability).
