How can European youth use their presence at COP-26 to amplify voices from activists of the global south who can’t travel to Glasgow?
This central question will guide our online exchange between youth activists from the global south and the global north.
Access to the COP is even more unequal this year than is otherwise the case: delegates and activists from the areas that are most affected by the climate crisis, can’t access the negotiations because of vaccine inequality. European youth are in a privileged situation but also feel the necessity to mobilize for climate justice and the representation of activists from the global south in climate negotiations.
During this session, activists from the global south will present their demands for COP-26 and discuss how we can support these and amplify their voices. Their presentations will also focus on how local experiences can feed global demands.
As a second part of the meeting, there is time for exchange so that we can build meaningful collaborations prior to and during COP-26.
