‘Nine Years Left: Bringing in Young European and Global Voices’ Side Event EU Pavilion Glasgow

‘Nine Years Left: Bringing in Young European and Global Voices’ Side Event EU Pavilion Glasgow

‘What have I done in the last 9 years?’ As countries and multilateral institutions invest political capital in 2030 climate targets, global youth stress the urgency to act now on issues affecting them: mitigation, adaptation, climate finance and gender development issues.

Young activists and community leaders, among them WECFs Rebecca Heuvelmans, will speak about their experiences in climate activism over the last 9 years and – as the COP negotiations reach their close (48 hours after this session) – suggest pathways for the next 9 years. With negotiators entering plenary discussions, the aim is to draw on inspiring stories from young people around the world and set policy goals for world leaders that meet that experience.
