We are looking for a communications and project intern for our Climate & Energy projects

Are you interested in climate action, energy efficiency and gender equality and would you like to gain experience in working for an international organisation? Then come and do an internship at WECF and contribute to our ecofeminist campaigns and actions! Together with our partners we are building a broad movement for a just future and show another world is possible.

WECF (Women Engage for a Common Future) is a network of 150 women’s and environmental organisations in more than 50 countries. Our goal is to strengthen women’s leadership and gender equality in the field of sustainability. We do this by working on three themes: feminist action for sustainable development, feminist action for climate solutions and feminist action for a toxic-free society. With our activities focused on capacity building, policy advocacy and movement building, we strengthen the position of women worldwide.

For our pan-European Climate Awareness project ClimAct/Spark a Change and for our upcoming Energy & Reconstruction project in Ukraine, we are looking for a communications & project intern.

Are you the person we are looking for?

  • You are studying or looking for work experience
  • You have an excellent command of English (Russian, Ukrainian, Dutch, German or French is an asset)
  • You are good at writing texts for the WECF website, facebook and twitter
  • You are looking for a versatile internship with an international, social organisation
  • Demonstrated affinity with civil society work or activism for gender equality, climate, sustainability & environment

Work

  • You will support the team in the implementation of a multifaceted, partly international campaigns, actions and programmes.
  • Participate in the daily functions of WECF and general communication activities e.g. writing newsletters, assisting in organizing events and the like
  • Contributing to campaigns on social media
  • Translating and writing articles for the website
  • Editing of digital newsletter, activity report
  • Knowledge of the EECCA region, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, is an asset

An internship allowance of 150 euros for 3 days a week

Because of the corona crisis, we, like many others, still work partly from home (about 50/50).  The internship is for 16-24 hours per week, depending on your availability, and for 4-6 months. Start date as soon as possible.
