Become a youth ambassador for menstruation, health and sustainability!

Did you know that we use an average of more than 11,000 menstrual products in our lifetime – and that these are often full of plastic and harmful substances? For many people, this is virtually unaffordable, creates mountains of waste and has an impact on our health!

It’s time for change – and it starts with you.

MENSY – which stands for menstruation, empowerment and sustainability – is a project by WECF (Women Engage for a Common Future), funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ programme. Together, we are breaking the taboo around menstruation, making sustainable choices visible and giving young people the knowledge and tools to deal with menstruation in a conscious way.

We are looking for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 from all over the Netherlands who want to become youth ambassadors. You will attend a one-day training course where you will learn everything about menstrual education, period poverty and sustainable products. After that, you will give one or more training sessions to other young people – for example, in a sports club or community centre. You will receive guidance, compensation and make an impact.

What can you expect?

  • An active training day full of knowledge, inspiration and practical tools
  • Insight into the link between menstruation, the environment, health and inequality
  • Support in giving your own training sessions
  • An official certificate
  • A fee of £80 plus travel expenses
  • And of course: lunch, coffee and tea on the training day

Practical information:

When

Friday 12 September from 11:00 to 16:00.

Where

Lola Lieven, Rodenrijsstraat 43, Amsterdam-Slotervaart (Close to Henk Sneevlietweg metro station – accessible with M51 and M50 from Amsterdam-Sloterdijk or Amsterdam-Zuid)

Why participate?

Because you can make a difference. By opening up the conversation about menstruation. By showing young people that sustainable alternatives exist. And by contributing to a fairer, healthier world – for yourself and for others.

After registering, you will receive more information by email at least one week before the training day.

The training will be both in Dutch and English

Register here and become part of the menstruation revolution.
